Bolognese Sauce Slow Cooker

2 pounds (900 g) extra lean ground beef
3 carrots, peeled, finely chopped
2 celery stalks , finely chopped
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 can (398 ml) tomato sauce with no added salt
1 can (398 mL) diced tomatoes with no salt added, undrained
1 can (5.5 oz or 156 ml) tomato paste
1/4 cup dressing with extra virgin Italian olive oil
1 c. of Italian spices
440 g of whole wheat spaghetti, uncooked
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 100%
Cooking Instructions:
Place all ingredients in slow cooker except spaghetti, basil and cheese; cover up.

Cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours (or on HIGH 4 hours).

Cook spaghetti as directed on package, without adding salt. Serve the pasta topped with meat mixture, basil and cheese.

We are big pasta lovers here, I cannot imagine my life without pasta !!

I've made this recipe a couple times now and it's been a hit every time. The 3rd time I tried this recipe, I added sausage meat with the ground beef for something different and it was excellent !

I've never made homemade spaghetti sauce before, but I was in a pinch for something quick and easy to fix for supper.
This recipe was yummy!
